Lightning Bug houses look a lot like people houses only they aren't quite as big. One time this firefly invited me over to watch a ball game and I remember thinking how messy his place looked. What do lightning bugs eat?-I learned tonight from web research based on Encyclopedia Brittanica info that there are over 1900 different species of lightning bugs. Some adults don't eat at all, some feed on pollen and nectar. Still others lay their eggs in the ground, which then stick to the bodies of snails and slugs. The lightning bug larvae then eat the snail or slug upon hatching, which is a good thing for gardeners as snails and slugs can ruin any garden.    (8T5)
